‘Buddha Day’ – Buddhist Era 2560

According to Theravada tradition, the Wesak Full-moon Day commemorates the Buddha’s birth, Enlightenment, and passing away some 25 centuries ago. This Wesak marks the 2,560th anniversary of His passing; hence the Buddhist Era (B.E.) 2560.
We joyfully invite you, your family and friends to join us and experience the serenity and joy of Wesak observance.
Programme:

| 9.30 am | Wesak message from Nalanda Buddhist Society |
| 10.00 am | Dhamma teaching in English & Mandarin |
| 11.15 am | Lunch dāna for monks |
| 11.30 am | Lunch for 8-preceptees and devotees |
| 2.30 pm | Meditation session |
| 3.00 pm | Sutta study |
| 5.30 pm | Mass food offering |
| 7.30 pm | Heritage Procession, Stage performance & Dhamma teaching |
| 10.00 pm | Sharing of merits |
An exhibition themed “A Beacon of Dhamma – Ven. Dr. K. Sri Dhammananda” will be open to the public from 10am to 6pm.
There will also be Nalanda Centre building tours with learning stations for everyone to feel the “Nalanda Experience”.
