	Frequently Asked Questions
	Q : What does WACANA mean? A : Literally, it means “words”. But in this context, it refers to “discussion/forum”.
	Q : Is the session conducted in conference (presentation followed by Q&A) or forum (interactive session with panel of presenters) format? A : It is a combination of conference and open forum format. We have dedicated 1-hr from 3:45pm onwards for interactive session between participants and panel presenters. Participants are encouraged to come well-prepared to exchange views and ask questions during that session.
	Q : What are the conference topics? A : The presenters will touch on areas such as the Definition of Buddhist Education; Buddhist Leadership; Essential Education for Leaders; the Traditional and Modern Approaches to Buddhism; Dhamma Education & the Way Forward; Educating from the Heart and other related subjects.
	Q : How do I register and make payment? A : You may obtain the registration form from the Buddhist Society that you frequented or register online. Payment can be made through cheque payable to Nalanda Buddhist Society or bank transfer to the RHB Bank Berhad. Please refer to payment details on registration form.
	Q : Can we register first and pay later at the conference? A : We would encourage that you pay while you register as confirmation of participation is upon receipt of payment. We will issue you a receipt and an official invitation card printed with your personalized registration number upon receipt of payment and registration form. You will need to bring along the invitation card for admittance to conference.
	Q : Can my children in the secondary school attend? A : Yes, as long as they are 18 years old and above. If they are 16-17 years old, you may want to submit their registration forms for our consideration. We will accept their enrollments if they are active in their respective Buddhist Societies in school. Having said that, we still believe that education involves the whole family, not just the children. So, we would encourage that you attend the conference with them to understand their needs and wants and how to go about educating them.
	Q : It is mentioned here that you will send personal invitation to friends that we recommend. Does it mean that they will not be charged? A : Your friend will still be charged the normal rates as we will need to pay the Hotel based on headcount. However, you will do them a great favour as what is a better way to close the year but to attend such a meaningful and inspiring Conference.
	Q : We travel from other states. Do you handle accommodation arrangement for us? A : We have a special room rate for room with breakfast @ RM178 nett and room without breakfast @ RM161 nett for conference delegates at the Hotel Armada. Please contact them direct at 603-7954 6888, quoting the WACANA 2007 to make a booking.
