Bro. Tan visits Free School in Johor Bahru

Bro. Tan visiting a Primary School Bahasa Malaysia class.

Earlier this month, Bro.Tan made a visit to Nalanda Free School (NFS) at NEO Centre Johor Bahru to witness the progress of free tuition classes there.  So far, 11 classes have started lessons, and 4 more will be starting this week.  The number of Free School students at NEO Centre JB is expected to exceed 200 soon.

Bro. Tan expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all Branch officers, teachers and volunteers for their tremendous effort in implementing the Free School project in Johor Bahru.  He reminded everyone that it is best to conduct education in a holistic approach, enabling and encouraging students to acquire knowledge, skills, values and refinement in culture.

Nalanda Free School began in 2010 at Sri Serdang, and has now expanded to Happy Garden KL and Johor Bahru.  More than 500 needy Malaysian students are benefiting from this daily programme.  Bro. Tan is the Honorary Principal of Nalanda Free School, while Sis. Ng Choy Hong is the NFS Programme Co-ordinator in Johor Bahru.
