We are honoured to host Ven. T. Sangharatana Nāyaka Thero for a Dhamma talk with the topic “Good Practitioners” at Nalanda Centre this Thursday, 2 April.
Profile of Ven. T. Sangharatana
Venerable T. Sangharatana Nāyaka Thero was born in Sri Lanka and ordained as a novice monk at the age of twelve. The Venerable obtained his Master of Philosophy (Buddhist Studies) and later a Doctorate from the Delhi University. He started his social service in Bangalore, India as the founding member of the Maha Mahinda Dhammaduta Propagating Society, which works among the lower strata of the Indian community in socio-welfare work.
Venerable Sangharatana is currently the Abbot of Pitaramba Vihāra in Bentota, Sri Lanka and founder of the Bentota Buddhist Social Welfare Institution. Venerable has authored several books, among them ‘Poems for Children’, ‘Devotional Songs for Children’ and ‘Buddhism – The Thirst Quencher’.
