On Saturday 10 September, Nalanda leaders made a visit to the proposed building site of Metta Lodge’s new centre in Taman Johor Jaya. The purpose of the brief tour was to extend our support to this noble project, which is invaluable for the propagation of Theravada tradition in Johor Bahru.
Nalanda founder Bro. Tan, accompanied by President Sis. Evelyn, Deputy President Bro. Charlie, the Chairmen and their deputies from all Nalanda branches participated in the visit. They were warmly received by Metta Lodge President Bro. Heng and his EXCO, members and devotees. The Nalandians were brought around the site and briefed on the project.
Nalanda President Sis. Evelyn expressed her confidence that the project will be successful given that the community sees the need for another Buddhist centre in Johor Bahru. She also handed over Nalanda Malaysia’s and Nalanda Johor Branch’s donation towards the project to Bro. Heng.

Bro. Tan then led everyone present in the recitation of ‘Paritta’ to invoke blessings for the safe, smooth and successful completion of the building. He also encouraged everyone to work concertedly as a ‘Buddhist community’ for this project. Our best wishes to Metta Lodge in their noble endeavour. Sadhu anumodana.
