On Friday 27 November, Nalanda Buddhist Society founder Bro.Tan and senior Nalandian officers were invited to Sam Poh Thong’s fund-raising dinner with the theme, “Rebuilding Sam Poh Thong – Nurturing the Seeds of Wisdom”.  The fund-raising event was in aid of rebuilding Sam Poh Thong (三宝堂) Buddhist Temple in Ampang New Village, Selangor.

Its Abbess, Venerable Sing Kan (胜勤法师), took over the helm of the temple in 2008.  She introduced Dhamma Classes and other projects to propagate Buddhism there.  In order to cater for the growing number of children attending Dhamma classes, the temple is in need of bigger premises with upgraded facilities.

Buddhist leaders came together to support the event. (From left) President of Theravada Buddhist Council Bro. Chim; Organising Chairman of the dinner Bro. We rejoice with Venerable Sing Kan and her team for successfully hosting the fund-raiser, and wish them every success in the building project.  Let us work together for the growth of the Buddha-Sāsana!  Anumodana.
