Taking leave from teachers

Nalanda President Sis. Evelyn led officers and members to take leave from Bro.Tan yesterday.

After yesterday’s (Sunday) Morning Service, Nalandians gathered in groups to take leave from teachers for the upcoming Lunar New Year break.  “Taking leave” from teachers and elders is an enduring Nalandian tradition when one has to go to somewhere far, or going away for a significant period.

Nalanda Buddhist Society President Sis. Evelyn Chow led officers and members to take leave from Bro Tan, who advised everyone to celebrate the New Year with wholesome activities, and with minds imbued with modesty, loving-kindness, and generosity.  Following that, groups of volunteers, teenage Dhamma School students and Junior School students paid respects in turn, and took leave from Bro. Tan as well.

We wish everyone a safe journey back to your home-towns and a joyful celebration with family and friends.  Happy New Year with Dhamma blessings!
