From 31 May to 2 June, more than a hundred Nalanda members across Malaysia gathered in Wisdom Park for the 11th National Nalanda Members Convention. It was a joyful reunion for everyone after a year of hard work and selfless service.
The second day of the Convention explored how to grow with care, an essential ingredient for the Nalanda community’s unity and growth. In an invigorating session, Sis. Nandinī Tan shared her observations throughout the year, bringing to light important lessons to be learnt from. She shared that as Nalanda members, we need to care (1) for our core principles and practices, (2) for the people around us, and (3) for the larger Nalanda community.

Sis. Santī Cheang delivered another insightful session on “Caring about our Speech”. In a community where we actively serve together, the way we communicate can either unite or divide. With mindfulness and awareness, we learn to be aware of the choice of words, timing, and intention of our speech so that we foster unity and harmony.
Throughout the programme, there were many sessions for members to discuss and express their views. This included case studies on pioneering Buddhist and charitable organisations, and Dhamma Chat sessions for the adults, youths and Branch members. The day concluded with a reflective talk by Achariya Tan Siang Chye on views (diṭṭhi). Based on the Alagaddupama Sutta, Achariya shared on the way to develop Right View.
Stay tuned tomorrow for more photos and article on the final day of the Convention!
