Inspiring learning in Panyaprateep and Thawsi Schools

Much gratitude to the teachers from Panyaprateep School in Pak Chong for their generous sharing and warm hospitality.

On 15 and 16 September, Nalanda Dhamma School facilitators visited two remarkable Buddhist schools in Thailand – Panyaprateep School in Pak Chong and Thawsi School in Bangkok – as part of their Learning Trip. These visits provided a wonderful opportunity to exchange experiences, gain fresh insights into Buddhist education and strengthen ties with fellow Dhamma educators.

At Panyaprateep School, facilitators were introduced to the school’s unique approach to education, guided by the vision of Ajahn Jayasāro. Besides gaining insights from the teachers’ sharing on how Dhamma values are woven into every aspect of school life, facilitators also had the opportunity to chat with students, who enthusiastically shared their learning experiences and daily routines. These conversations gave facilitators a glimpse into how mindfulness, compassion, and moral integrity are nurtured in a supportive environment. The visit left everyone inspired and motivated to further strengthen Buddhist education back home.

Kru Benjamin warmly welcomed the group.

The teachers shared about the school’s education principles and meaningful learning activities in the school.

Facilitators also had the opportunity to have a chat with existing students of the school, in which the students offered insightful explanations and reflections from their learning experience.

Sis. See Hui Shien, the Director of Nalanda Dhamma School shared words of appreciation to the Panyaprateep team for kindly hosting our group and generously sharing their experience.

To conclude the visit, facilitators were brought on a school tour of the campus ground.

The following day at Thawsi School was equally enriching. Young children led creative learning activities specially prepared for the visiting facilitators, delighting everyone with their confidence and joy. The visit concluded with a lively Q&A session with Thawsi’s teachers, who generously shared their experiences and practical tips for holistic education. The facilitators returned home deeply inspired, grateful for the generous hospitality, and eager to put their learning into practice to benefit many more children in Malaysia. We wish Panyaprateep and Thawsi Schools continued success in their noble efforts to educate and inspire future generations. Sadhu anumodāna.
