With hearts full of gratitude, we extend our deepest appreciation to all our guests, families, friends and devotees who came together to support “Dhamma Through Drama – The Conquest of Asoka” on 19 and 20 September.  Your presence, encouragement and support made this special production an especially meaningful offering by the Nalanda community.

This production brought together our members, parents, youths and Dhamma School students, who courageously stepped forward to learn and hone their performance skills as an offering to the community.  Featuring a screenplay by Mr. S. Vijaya and original songs and music by Mr. Yang Wei Han, the production came alive through Mr. Yang’s skilful direction and the wholehearted dedication of the cast and production team.  We rejoice in everyone who gave their time, talents and energy to make this Dhamma offering possible.

Through the heartwarming journey of the great Mauryan Emperor Asoka, we are reminded that the greatest conquest is not the conquest of lands and kingdoms, but the conquest of oneself.  We are deeply grateful to Ven. Dr. Tejawaro for sharing the profound Dhamma after the performances, allowing audiences to reflect more deeply on Asoka’s transformation and the timeless message of inner conquest.

Beyond the stage, “The Conquest of Asoka” carries an even greater purpose — supporting the construction of Wisdom Park Phase 2.  This next phase is an opportunity for us to build not merely facilities, but a lasting space where future generations can learn the Dhamma, deepen their practice, form wholesome friendships and grow together as a Buddhist community.

Wisdom Park is built by the Buddhist community, for the Buddhist community.  As we embark on this next chapter, we warmly invite everyone to be part of this meaningful journey.  Every contribution helps bring this shared vision closer to reality.  Together, let us build Wisdom Park to benefit many, and serve the Buddha-Sāsana for generations to come.
