Profile of Ajahn Jayanto

Ajahn Jayanto was born in Boston, USA in 1967. At age 21, he took a great interest in the spiritual life and left university to pursue something more meaningful. He found his way to Amaravati in order to join the monastic community. In 1991, he took bhikkhu ordination at Cittaviveka Monastery and trained at both Cittaviveka and Harnham monasteries. Ajahn embarked on a period of practice in Thailand and other Buddhist countries in Asia in 1997 and returned to UK in 2006, where he has since been living at Amaravati.
