An enduring life of service

Today, Monday 19 September, Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II will be laid to rest at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.  Millions have been gathering since her passing on 8 September, to pay their last respects to this esteemed monarch who dedicated her life to her people as Queen of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth realms.

Born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary on 21 April 1926, she ascended to the throne in 1952 bearing its weighty duties with grace and humility for the next 70 years.  An advocate of global peace, her patience, hard work and personal dignity through tumultuous and ever-changing times garnered the deep respect of heads of states and people the world over.
