Interfaith exchange with IIUM and Erasmus + academics

We thank the group for a meaningful visit and exchange.

On Wednesday 27 August, Nalanda was pleased to host a delegation from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), comprising professors and lecturers, along with visiting academics from Germany, Spain, Austria, and Albania under the Erasmus+ Project. The diverse group, representing different faiths and cultural backgrounds, made the occasion a truly meaningful opportunity for interfaith dialogue and cross-cultural exchange.

The discussions unfolded in a warm and respectful atmosphere, with participants reflecting on shared values such as compassion, mutual respect, ethical living, and service to the community. Both hosts and guests expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to learn from one another’s traditions and to strengthen mutual understanding across cultures and religions.

The exchange continued the following day, Thursday 28 August, when Bro. Tan Siang Chye, Director of Nalanda Institute Malaysia, was invited to serve as a panellist at the Erasmus+ Transnational Meeting on The Role of Religion in Ensuring Climate Justice, hosted at IIUM.

Nalanda extends its sincere appreciation to IIUM and the visiting academics for their kind visit and enriching dialogue. We wish them every success in their ongoing work and collaboration, and may such engagements continue to build bridges of friendship, harmony, and mutual respect among all communities.

On the next day, the interfaith dialogue continued at IIUM.
