Sin Chew interviews Fun Fair operators

Ah Loh Kopitiam “Wok for Charity” team members at Nalanda Family Fun Fair recently.

On Monday 21 August, Malaysia’s most popular Chinese-language daily Sin Chew Jit Poh (星洲日报), published an exclusive interview with two groups of operators of Nalanda’s Family Fun Fair, which was held in Sri Serdang last weekend.

The two groups interviewed were Ah Loh Kopitiam and our friends from Kelantan.  A team of good friends under the “Ah Loh Kopitiam” banner have been operating food stalls at Nalanda Family Fun Fair since 2010.  This year, the group has expanded to an amazing 11 stalls, attracting hundreds of customers with their delicious fare.

Our friends from Kelantan similarly have been great supporters of Nalanda for many years.  Every Fun Fair, they would make the 500km trip from Kelantan to Sri Serdang to set up stalls selling food and drinks.  This year, they came with a lorry-full of sugarcane which they planted and harvested themselves, as well as 200 fresh coconuts.

Our Kelantanese friends hard at work making juice from the sugarcane they planted and harvested.

Thanks to our great friends and supporters from Kelantan who participate in the Family Fun Fair every year without fail.

We thank Sin Chew Jit Poh for recognising and honouring the two wonderful groups of supporters who are epitomes of selfless contributors to a better world.  Read the Mandarin article at: http://www.sinchew.com.my/node/1674493 【暖势力】“爱心团队” 奉献心力无怨悔!
