Nalanda leaders usually start the New Year by visiting Buddhist viharas in a tradition stretching back to 2004; and this year was no exception.  President Sis. Evelyn, Deputy President Bro. Charlie Teng, Honorary Secretary Bro. Pee, as well as Board Members Bro. Chan and Sis. Santī were among a group of Nalanda officers who paid a visit to the Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple in Sentul in the first week of January.

Nalanda founder Bro. Tan who had just returned from India also joined the visit, together with several youths.  They met with the temple’s abbot, Venerable Sri Saranankara Nayaka Thero, and had a brief discussion with him on recent issues affecting the Buddhist community.

The Nalandian leaders also thanked Ven. Saranankara and other members of the Sangha for supporting Nalanda’s many programmes throughout the years.  The officers also wished the venerable monks good health and much success in all noble endeavours.  Sadhu!
