On Saturday 14 January, Nalanda Institute held a Convocation Ceremony and Gratitude Day for graduates of BPS304 Certificate in Buddhist Studies who successfully completed their course in December 2016. The day marked the culmination of months of lectures, assignments, presentations and written evaluation throughout the whole course, and naturally the graduates received their certificates and transcripts with much joy and satisfaction.
Nalanda Institute Malaysia will convene a Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, 14 January for graduates of BPS304 Certificate in Buddhist Studies, class of 2016. It is also a day of gratitude and appreciation to all teachers, volunteers, and benefactors who provided precious opportunities for Dhamma learning.
On 19 December, students of BPS 303 – Certificate in Buddhist Studies, gathered at Nalanda Centre for their graduation ceremony. Also present were students of BPS 101 – Buddhist Studies in Mandarin, who were there to rejoice and strengthen the bonds of kalyana mittatā (spiritual friendship) forged over the course of their studies.
On Saturday 12 December, 30 Kelantan participants of BPS303 – Certificate in Buddhist Studies course graduated with flying colours. Their success was well-deserved as they had worked very hard and showed great tenacity to earn their certificates. Despite the challenges they faced during the 5-month course, they never wavered in their enthusiasm and love for the Dhamma.
Nalanda Institute Convocation Ceremony for participants of BPS 302 – Certificate in Buddhist Studies was joyously held on 30 November at Nalanda Centre. The ceremony began with an ‘ovada’ or advice from Achariya Vijaya Samarawickrama, the Director of Nalanda Institute. He complimented all graduates for their diligence and determination over the past 5 months to complete the course. Achariya Vijaya also quoted ‘Mangala Sutta‘ to the audience, which contains Buddha’s advice on the way to live a noble way of life which ultimately leads to liberation from suffering. Read more
