On Sunday 22 June, over 50 students and facilitators from Junior Dhamma School embarked on an educational outing to the Perdana Botanical Gardens and Bank Negara Malaysia Museum.  Starting the morning with a simple picnic at the Botanical Gardens, students shared a modest meal amidst nature and reflected on the value of contentment and appreciating simplicity.

The visit continued at the Bank Negara Museum, where students participated enthusiastically in interactive games designed to cultivate wise financial habits.  They learned to differentiate genuine and counterfeit currency, explored the history of money in Malaysia, and discovered the diverse currencies of ASEAN nations.  A highlight was the opportunity to use a simulated ATM machine with a sample bank card to experience the process of withdrawing money.

To reinforce their learning, students took part in a group quiz that encouraged them to seek answers from the exhibits and engage actively with the displays. The activities were both informative and enjoyable, instilling the importance of being content and avoiding excessive desire for material possessions.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all facilitators for thoughtfully organising this meaningful outing, which enriched the students’ understanding and growth.  May all participants continue to develop wholesome qualities and flourish in wisdom and happiness.  Sādhu anumodāna!
