Enriching Tipitaka Workshop & Sutta Study with Ven. Dr. Santacitto

More than 100 members and devotees came together for a meaningful Tipitaka Workshop and Sutta Study led by Ven. Dr. Santacitto

Over the long holiday weekend from 29 – 31 August, more than 100 members and devotees came together for a meaningful Tipitaka Workshop and Sutta Study led by Ven. Dr. Santacitto. Step by step, participants explored the history of how the Buddha’s teachings have been carefully preserved and transmitted through the dedicated efforts of His disciples and generations of practitioners over the past 2,600 years.

Ven. Dr. Santacitto introduced the three “baskets” of the Tipitaka — the Vinaya Pitaka, Sutta Pitaka and Abhidhamma Pitaka — providing participants with a clearer understanding of their contents and significance. This foundation helped participants appreciate how the vast collection of the Buddha’s teachings is organised and preserved.

Members and devotees welcomed Ven. Dr. Santacitto respectfully.

The workshop also featured an in-depth study of two important discourses, the Parābhava Sutta and Ratana Sutta, with participants learning to read and understand the texts in both Pāli and English. Through guided study, they gained greater confidence in referring to the original teachings and appreciating their meaning in context.

On behalf of all participants, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Ven. Dr. Santacitto for his close, clear and patient guidance throughout the workshop. May this learning inspire us to continue exploring the Tipitaka and, most importantly, to put the Buddha’s teachings into practice in our daily lives. Sādhu anumodanā!
