On Tuesday 13 October, the Young Working Adults programme brought together youths to explore how to navigate workplace politics with greater awareness and wisdom. Facilitated by Sis. Foo Ai Li, the session examined how people have different communication styles and approaches at work. While some may seek to advance themselves at the expense of others, we can choose to engage in ‘clean politics’ by building positive relationships without intentionally harming others.
Through guided discussions and reflection, participants explored ways to foster better workplace relationships through cooperation, reciprocity and mutual understanding. They also identified their personal values, recognising the importance of staying true to these principles when faced with difficult situations and challenges at work.

Workplace challenges and politics are inevitable, but they also present opportunities for learning and growth. By responding with greater awareness, integrity and consideration for others, we can become more mature, effective and purposeful in our professional lives. May the youths continue to cultivate wholesome relationships and contribute positively to their workplaces.
