Full-moon Uposatha of Assayuja month

Today is the full moon of the ‘Assayuja’ month, a significant Buddhist observance marking the conclusion of the three-month Rains Retreat (‘Vassana’) for Theravāda monks.

On this meaningful Uposatha day, let us take the opportunity to strengthen our spiritual practice through observing the Eight Precepts, practising meditation, engaging in chanting, and making offerings to the monastic community.  May these wholesome deeds nurture our faith, mindfulness, and understanding of the Buddha’s teachings.

May we continue to cultivate wholesome qualities, live in accordance with the Dhamma, and progress steadily on the noble path towards liberation.
