A wholesome evening at Maha Karuna Vihara

A wholesome evening at Maha Karuna Vihara

On Tuesday 11 August, a group of Nalanda members and youths, led by Nalanda Centre Director Sis. Nandini Tan, joined the evening Chanting and Blessing Ceremony at Maha Karuna Vihara, Elmina.  The ceremony was part of nine consecutive days of chanting and blessings held from 8 to 15 August in conjunction with the inauguration of the vihara.

Members were grateful for the opportunity to chant together and rejoice in this auspicious milestone.  After the chanting, Ven. B. Sri Saranankara Nayaka Maha Thera personally guided the group on a tour of the newly completed facilities.

Brahmavihara Monastery and Ariya Vihara chanted before the Nalanda group.

Sis. Nandini had a conversation with Ven. Dr. Dhammapala after the chanting, before he departed for Malacca.

Sis. Nandini and Sis. Sunanda greeted Ven. Ayya Sumangala.

We rejoice in the merits of all who contributed to the establishment of Maha Karuna Vihara.  May the vihara flourish as a centre for Dhamma learning and community service, benefiting many for generations to come.

Sādhu anumodana!

The Nalanda group chanted the Jayamangala Gāthā, Mangala Sutta and Karaṇīya Mettā Sutta, sharing thoughts of goodwill and blessings for the new Vihara.

Nalanda Board Member Bro. Lee Kong Foo received a token of appreciation from Ven. Saranankara.
