Well done, Nalandians!
31 December is an important day for Nalanda Dharma School. This is the time when the School celebrates the contributions and progress made by students throughout the year. For 2011, the School Honours day was very different from previous years’ because this time around, it was solely organized by the students; a task previously done by School facilitators.
The evening started off with a cultural dance, followed by dramas, poem recital, hymn singing, and even a stand-up comedy. All these performances were thoughtfully prepared by the students to entertain their parents and elders as a form of appreciation to them.
The Dhammavijaya Trophy presented to the Garuda House Captain
When the final play ended, the students lined up, and solemnly made their way to their respective places amidst the toiling of bells. It was the moment everyone had been waiting for – Certificates, medals and gifts were presented to deserving students in recognition of their personal improvements and the services they have contributed to the School. Annually, a single House (either Naga or Garuda) would win the School trophy based on points accumulated throughout the year. This year Garuda won the the coveted trophy for the 3rd consecutive year!
