Nalanda rejoiced in witnessing this significant historic milestone, which brought together Dhamma leaders and representatives from Buddhist communities locally and overseas.  The inauguration featured a Chanting and Blessing Ceremony, followed by the official inauguration, marking a new chapter in the temple’s mission to promote the Buddha’s teachings and serve the community.  Nine Days of Chanting and Blessing Ceremonies will continue from 8-15 August, followed by the Offering of Requisites to the Maha Sangha on 16 August.

Established in 2001 under the guidance of Venerable B. Sri Saranankara Nayaka Maha Thera, Maha Karuna Vihara is dedicated to Buddhist education, compassion, and community service.

Nalanda rejoices in the dedication and perseverance of Ven. Saranankara, the development committee, donors, devotees, and all who contributed to completing this meaningful project over four years.  May Maha Karuna Vihara flourish as a centre for Dhamma propagation and community service, benefiting many and contributing to the continuation of the Buddha’s dispensation.  Sadhu anumodana!
