Nurturing wisdom together

Nurturing wisdom together

Families started the session with a tranquil meditation session.

On Sunday 28 September, families gathered once again at the Nalanda Kuala Lumpur Family Dhamma School for a warm and engaging session of shared learning. The School continues to be more than a weekly class, it is a living practice-space where parents and children walk the Dhamma path together, nurturing kindness, patience, and wise speech through everyday activities.

This session emphasised practising the Dhamma within the family: mindful communication, shared reflection on daily actions, and small, consistent habits that build harmony at home. Interactive exercises gave children and parents practical ways to turn Dhamma teachings into family routines, while group reflections helped everyone see how patience and right view soften conflicts and deepen joy.

Ringing the bell to mark the commencement of a day of meaningful learning.

Offering of lights and water with mindfulness.

Sis. Nandini guided the parents in their learning.

Importantly, the Family Dhamma School will be shared as a model for one of the forums at the upcoming WACANA conference, reflecting on its potential to strengthen family bonds and community well-being.

We warmly invite everyone to join WACANA 2025 on 20 December, and be part of this meaningful gathering of minds and hearts dedicated to learning, reflecting, and living the Buddha’s teachings together.

Sis. Nandini also encouraged the Dhamma school parents to participate in Wacana 2025.

Children have learning with their friends, understanding Dhamma through interactive and engaging sharing.

The younger group of students learn and play together.

We thank volunteers in the kitchen for supporting the session as well.
