It is with deep respect and a heavy heart that we announce the passing away of Venerable Alubomulle Ratanasiri Nāyaka Mahāthero on 17 August 2025, aged 70.

Ven. Ratanasiri served as the previous abbot of Seck Kia Eenh Buddhist Temple in Malacca.  After stepping down from the role, Venerable spent his final days in Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple, Sentul.

Venerable Ratanasiri last visited Nalanda on 13 July 2025 for Dhammacakka Day Observance and had given invaluable advice and encouragement to Nalanda members.

Nalanda Buddhist Society Malaysia offers our deep condolence to the disiples, students and devotees of the late Ven. A. Ratanasiri, as well as to the Management of Seck Kia Eenh Buddhist Temple.  May the late Venerable Nāyaka Mahāthera attain the highest bliss of Nibbāna.  Sotthi.
