First WACANA 2025 Organising Committee meeting on 20 July. The meeting included heads of all the functional teams as well as representatives from Theravāda Buddhist Council of Malaysia.

Periodically, Nalanda Institute Malaysia organises WACANA as the premier Malaysian Buddhist Conference, bringing together dynamic, knowledgeable members of the Sangha and lay Buddhist leaders to discuss pertinent issues affecting Buddhism today.

The ensuing discussion will help formulate effective and sustainable strategies for the welfare of coming Buddhist generations in Malaysia, and serve as a reference point for any community leaders around the world.

Since late 2024, the WACANA Programme Team have been convening frequently for this important conference themed “Awakening to Community Well-being : Contemporary Approaches”.  We are also blessed to have Theravāda Buddhist Council of Malaysia on-board as co-organisers.
