Rejoicing at final Members’ Day of 2025

Rejoicing at final Members’ Day of 2025

It was a truly rejoiceful gathering with good spiritual friends.

On Sunday 2 November, Nalanda members came together for the last Members’ Day of the year.  It was a time for rejoice as we welcomed new members who have been serving devotedly in the Dhamma School. Members also received the latest Society updates and 2026 programmes info from the EXCO.

A special sharing by Bro. Ooi Choong Li was especially touching, as he reflected on how we can find inspiration and joy from the wholesome qualities within ourselves and others.  Qualities such as generosity, kindness and compassion are evident when one commits to service as these wholesome deeds are dont sincerely for the welfare of others.

Members’ Day start with offerings and chanting.

Sis. Santi Cheang sharing etiquette in ways we communicate.

New members shared their learning journey at Nalanda.

Being one of the seven members going for temporary ordination in December, Bro Alex Loo shared his motivations to spiritually recharge and their preparation journey.  Bro. Alex thanked the spouses and family members, on behalf of the group, for supporting them in their spiritual journey.

We extend our gratitude to Nalanda’s Board of Management and EXCO for all their efforts and commitment in organising Members’ Day throughout the year, to provide avenue for members to reconnect back in spiritual home, to learn, discuss and rejoice as a united community.  We look forward to the first 2026 Members’ Day on Sunday, 11 January 2026.

Bro. Alex shared the reason he decided to embark on the temporary renunciation.

Members together launched the Nalanda van which will be used for Dhamma programmes and to serve the community.

Celebrating the birthdays of dear friends.
