On Sunday 25 October, the Nalanda community gathered at Nalanda Centre for the Samaggi Morning Service, bringing together Dhamma School students, youths, parents and adult devotees for meditation, pūjā offerings and chanting.
In his Samaggi speech, Bro. Charlie Teng, Deputy President of Nalanda Buddhist Society, reflected on the true meaning of Samaggi (harmony), emphasising that it is not merely about being together, but about working together to achieve something meaningful. He highlighted three aspirations: appreciating the harmony of the monastic Sangha ahead of Sangha Day, celebrating the teamwork and selfless service behind the Asoka Musical Show, and contributing to the development of Wisdom Park for future generations. He encouraged everyone to become active contributors to Nalanda’s mission and grow together in harmony.
The Dhamma talk by Sis. Sunanda Ong explored “Kamma and Responsibility”, based on the book ‘What Buddhists Believe’ by Ven. Dr. K. Sri Dhammananda. Through clear explanations and interactive activities, she clarified common misconceptions about kamma and encouraged participants to apply their understanding in daily life. The morning strengthened the community’s understanding of the Dhamma and renewed its commitment to wholesome action and collective service.
