From 26 to 28 January 2026, we were honoured to host Ven. Dr. Ethkandawaka Saddhajeewa Thero, Co-Abbot of the Bhāvanā Society, West Virginia, U.S.A. at Nalanda Centre. On this short stop-over in Malaysia on his way to Indonesia, we were glad to get better acquainted with Ven. Saddhajeewa, who is visiting Nalanda Centre for the first time.
Nalanda EXCO members and Dhamma School facilitators also had the opportunity to meet with Ven. Saddhajeewa to pay their respects and seek advice on his perspective regarding Buddhist education. He shared on the importance of Dhamma education, especially for children as it lays a foundation for a meaningful life. He also related how Ven. H. Gunaratana, fondly known as Bhante G, is faring. Despite his age, Bhante G continues to be actively serving the Sasana in the Bhāvanā Society.
We extend our appreciation to Ven. Saddhajeewa for coming to visit Nalanda and allowing us to host him in Malaysia. May venerable sir continue safely on his journeys in South East Asia, and on his return to the U.S. Sādhu anumodāna!
