On Wednesday 27 May, Nalanda Youth Centre hosted a Youth Leadership Exchange with Komunitas Mahasiswa Buddhis (KMB) Widyodaya, the Buddhist society of Prasetiya Mulya University in Jakarta, Indonesia. Youth leaders gathered at K. Sri Dhammananda Centre to learn from each other, in order to bring back ideas and insights for the benefit of their communities.
Leaders presented their respective visions, objectives, leadership structures, youth programmes, and approaches towards leader development. A fruitful dialogue session followed, where participants exchanged perspectives, experiences, and insights on nurturing Buddhist youth leadership in today’s world.
One meaningful common ground discovered during the exchange was the shared journey in youth development — first introducing participants to Dhamma, then engaging them through activities and programmes, identifying and nurturing potential leaders, involving them in committees and leadership training, while continuously cultivating their spiritual growth and connection with the Dhamma along the way.
We thank the leaders from KMB Widyodaya for this fruitful exchange, and for coming to Nalanda for Buddha Day Observance. May this friendship continue to grow stronger as we work together in inspiring more youths through Dhamma.
