Youths enhance facilitation skills in workshop with Sis. Paruadi

Joyful in learning with the support of good friends.

On Sunday 13 July, 16 youths continued their learning after the Dhammacakka Day observance for a Facilitation Training workshop, led by Sis. Paruadi Ramasamy.  Sis. Paru shared about the importance and the characteristics of a skilful facilitator.  She also talked about the “6 Core Facilitator Skills” that are critical in facilitating harmonious and meaningful group discussions, such as listening attentively to others regardless of our own opinion.

After the sharing session, the youths put the theory they had learned to test by conducting mock group discussions.  Each youth embodied a different personality, and the group facilitator had to navigate different dynamics while achieving the desired outcome of the discussion.

Sis. Paruadi shared basic knowledge and pertinent skills in being a facilitator.

Participants discussing their reflections based on the training.

With these newfound skills, we hope the Youths are better equipped and more confident to conduct lively and insightful group sessions in the various learning environments.  We warmly invite all young adults aged 18 to 35 for our next Youth Sunday Service on 27 July, featuring a special lecture by Uncle Vijaya on “Origin of Religion”.  Let’s continue to learn and grow together in Dhamma!
