Strong learning spirit from the Youths in leading chanting led by Bro. Ajita Lim.

On Sunday 27 July, 18 youths continued their learning after the Special Lecture by Achariya Vijaya by attending a training for chanting leaders led by Bro. Ajita Lim.

Bro. Ajita started by emphasising the importance of cultivating the right spirit to lead chanting.  It is not just about the technique, but the way one carries oneself, such that people want to follow you.  When leading with the right spirit, one experiences “spirituality”, deepening one’s faith in the Three Jewels.  This spirit of an upright Dhamma practitioner in turn, can bring meaningful impact to others.

Bro. Ajita Lim led the training of chanting leaders. He shared that leading chanting is not just about technique but the spirit we carry.

Bro. Disheng shared that chanting is a tool for us to experience spirituality.

Each youth took turns to recite passages and was coached individually to refine their spirit, tone and technicality.

Bro. Ajita then coached every individual on the tone and technicality of chanting.  The youths took turns to recite passages and received feedback to refine their skills.  We hope that the youths gained confidence and clarity to lead chanting sessions with a stronger spirit and deeper spirituality.  Let’s continue to learn and grow together towards the path of peace!
