Āsālha Full-moon Day falls exactly 2 months after Wesak Day. It marks the three important events in the history of Buddhism – the day Buddha Gotama was conceived; the day He renounced worldly life to become an ascetic; and most importantly, the day He first preached the Dhamma as the Enlightened Teacher.
Nalanda members commemorate this thrice-blessed day annually with meditation, puja, and a special recitation of the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta – the Buddha’s first sermon at Sarnath, India, 2,600 years ago. Come and join us in celebrating this sacred occasion at Nalanda today at 8pm, with offerings, chanting, meditation and Dhamma talk by Sis. Paruadi Ramasamy. All are welcome.
