Dhamma talk and lunch dāna with Ven. Professor K.L. Dhammajoti

We are honoured to welcome Ven. Prof. K. L. Dhammajoti back to Nalanda Centre this 31 August, in conjunction with K. Sri Dhammananda Memorial Day.

The Observance Day programme will commence at 9am with the Flag-raising Ceremony and Robe Procession from K. Sri Dhammananda Centre to Nalanda Centre, followed by pūja offerings, chanting, and a Dhamma teaching by Ven. Prof. K. L. Dhammajoti.

There will also be an opportunity to offer lunch dāna to the venerable monks. You are welcome to bring cooked vegetarian food and fruits for the offering.

Profile of Ven. Professor. K.L. Dhammajoti

Born in Kuala Lumpur in 1949, Venerable Prof. K. L. Dhammajoti has dedicated over four decades to Buddhist education and research. He taught for more than 20 years at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, and later at the University of Hong Kong. In 2012, he founded the Buddha-Dharma Centre of Hong Kong, and in 2020 established the Vidyacarana Buddhist Resource (VBR) in Malaysia.

In 2023, he was conferred the title of Professor Emeritus by the University of Kelaniya. Renowned for his studies on the Sarvastivada Abhidharma, Venerable is committed to integrating Buddhist studies with practice, and to promoting the Buddha’s teachings beyond sectarian boundaries.
