Giving with sincerity is rewarding

Giving with sincerity is rewarding

On Saturday 6 September, Nalanda Kuala Lumpur Branch hosted the monthly ‘Pindacāra’ programme at the O.U.G. and Happy Garden markets, an opportunity for the local community to give with sincerity and without expectations.  This wholesome deed of giving (dāna) is not without its rewards, as taught by the Buddha.

In Anggutara Nikaya 5.34, the Buddha explained five rewards of giving :
– One is dear and agreeable to many people
– Noble and wise people associate with them
– A good reputation spreads about them
– They enter any assembly with confidence
– After death, they are reborn in a happy destination

We rejoice in the generosity of the community as they make the effort to support the Sangha.  May all these acts of dāna bring both immediate benefits in this life and future lives. Sadhu anumodana.

Rejoice in the community’s kind deed.

Volunteers support Ven. Ayya. B. Sunanda on the alms-round.

We also thank our members and volunteers from the KL Branch for their service.
