New Year, New Spirit at Sunday Morning Service

New Year, New Spirit at Sunday Morning Service

On Sunday 4 January 2026, members and devotees gathered for the first Sunday Morning Service of the new year at Nalanda Centre.  The morning began joyfully as the Spirited Team led everyone in uplifting songs, creating a warm and positive atmosphere among good spiritual friends.

In the morning Dhamma talk titled “New Year, New Spirit”, Sis. Paruadi Ramasamy encouraged devotees to integrate inner practice alongside service, dāna, and learning Dhamma.  True practice lies in being mindful of how one thinks, speaks, and acts, and in cultivating our emotional and mental states to allow inner transformation to unfold gradually.

Devotees were inspired by examples of four spiritual aspirations which they also discussed on how they personally aspire to progress in, namely to develop ourselves in paññā (wisdom leading to liberation), sacca (seeing the realities of impermanence, non-self, and unsatisfactoriness), cāga (letting go of subtle unwholesome qualities), and upasamā (cultivating inner peace and tranquillity).

In the ensuing lunch dāna, Ven. Rahula concluded the service by reminding everyone to reduce the unwholesome and cultivate the wholesome, setting a wholesome motivation for the Dhamma journey ahead.
