Nalanda 23rd Anniversary – Serving Others, Cultivating Ourselves

On 1 May, Nalanda Buddhist Society celebrated its 23rd Anniversary with a joyful and meaningful Members’ Convention at Wisdom Park, Kuala Kubu Bharu, marked by reflection, gratitude, and renewed purpose, under the theme “Serving Others, Cultivating Ourselves.”

President Sis. Buddhinī Tan highlighted Nalanda’s steady journey from humble beginnings to a thriving community grounded in the aspiration to learn, practise, and share the Dhamma.  What began as a small boat has grown into a sturdy ship, carrying many across challenges with courage and clarity of purpose, and a common destination.

Guided by harmony, members were reminded that every role matters.  Whether at the helm or below deck, each contributes to keeping the ship strong and moving forward.  True strength lies not only in kalyāṇamittā, but in being committed good teammates who journey together with mutual respect and a shared vision.  Differences become strengths when anchored in unity of heart and a common mission to provide holistic Buddhist education for the welfare of many.

Inspiring sharings from founding members, youths, and branch representatives reflected resilience and growth.  The installation of new office bearers further signified continuity and collective responsibility.

As Nalanda sails forward, we thank all leaders, members, donors, supporters, devotees and volunteers who have been part of this meaningful journey together and helped develop Holistic Education.  May this strong and steady ship continue to nurture many, fostering harmony, service, and inner transformation for generations to come.  Sādhu!
