Catastrophic flash floods hit Nepal and Tibet – rescue efforts ongoing

Catastrophic flash floods struck Nepal and Tibet on Wednesday 26 August, causing widespread devastation to communities, with homes, roads and bridges swept away. According to BBC’s latest live report, more than 350 people have lost their lives, while more than a thousand remain missing as search and rescue efforts continue.
On this Uposatha Day, let us spare thoughts of loving-kindness to all those affected by this calamity. May the people of Nepal and Tibet be spared further danger and suffering, and may those still missing be found soon. May the fallen ones rest in peace. Sotthi.
