Monthly Pindacāra, led by Ven. Pallegama Dhammadinna and Ven. Thanakit from Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple Sentul.
On Saturday 19 September, members and devotees gathered at the Seri Kembangan markets to participate in the monthly Pindacāra, led by Ven. Pallegama Dhammadinna and Ven. Thanakit from Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple Sentul.
The Pindacāra programme served as a fertile training ground for all – monastics, Buddhist practitioners, and the public- to practise dāna and cultivate sīla, while nurturing generosity, humility, mindfulness and a compassionate heart.
It was especially heartwarming to witness the transformation of a boy who was previously shy and hesitant to make offerings. This time, he came forward joyfully and gave without hesitation. Another young student from Nalanda Dhamma School joined his parents as a volunteer, learning to engage warmly with market-goers and stall operators.
Such moments remind us how wholesome qualities can be nurtured from a young age, planting seeds of kindness and the inclination to do good. Through participation, volunteers of all ages, learn not only to give, but also to approach others with confidence, respect, and care.
We rejoice in everyone who participated and contributed to this meaningful Pindacāra. May these meritorious deeds inspire greater kindness, compassion, and a spirit of giving in our community. Sādhu!
