On Friday 2 January, members and devotees gathered to welcome Ajahn Jutindharo on his maiden visit to Nalanda Centre, and to learn from Ajahn in the evening Dhamma talk. Apt advise for the new year, Ajahn reminded us that our worth is beyond just academic or worldly achievements; it is how we make lives better by extending more kindness and friendliness into the world.
Taking stock of where we are, and what we can do, it is also important that we promote harmony and understanding in the community. When the unexpected happens, we should have patience, compassion and mindfulness. Ajahn shared many personal experiences which spurred us on to persevere in our meditation practice, cautioning that we should not have expectations but experience each moment as it is.
We extend our appreciation to Ajahn Jutindharo for making time to visit and give us guidance as we embark on the new year. May Ajahn have the blessings of good health and may his noble endeavours be successful. Sadhu!
