Strengthening wholesome habits through dāna

Strengthening wholesome habits through dāna

Devotees and volunteers take the opportunity to offer dāna to the venerable Sangha members.

On Saturday 16 May, Nalanda members and volunteers gathered for the monthly Pindacāra (alms-round) at Pasar Basah Bazar Rakyat, Seri Kembangan, led by Ven. Jinawana and Ven. Sunanda from Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple, Sentul. Market vendors, residents, and devotees joyfully offered alms to the Sangha, creating a warm atmosphere of generosity and gratitude. Volunteers also invited the public to the upcoming Buddha Day observance at Nalanda Centre.

The alms-round concluded with a lunch dāna at Nalanda Centre. Through the regular cultivation of dāna and wholesome deeds, one gradually develops ācinna kamma — habits shaped by repeated goodness. When generosity and kindness are practised consistently, they become natural qualities of the mind, bringing harmony and inner joy. May these wholesome seeds continue to benefit many. Sādhu!
