The gift of giving at Pindacāra

The gift of giving at Pindacāra

Making offerings with much respect.

In the Anggutara Nikaya, it was recorded that the Buddha taught – “There are these five gifts of a true person.  What five? They give a gift out of faith.  They give a gift carefully. They give a gift at the right time.  They give a gift with no strings attached.  They give a gift without damaging themselves or others.”

This was so last Saturday, 6 December, when devotees, market-goers, stall operators and volunteers at O.U.G. and Happy Garden came together to give in support of the Sangha in the pindacāra programme.  Over the past year, many have been persistent in their offerings as a way to not just do good, but also to cultivate generosity and kindness.

Back at Nalanda Centre, the community continues to practise reverence, humility and gratitude.

Let us all rejoice in these good deeds and constantly avail opportunities for ourselves to cultivate in our morality, avoid the unwholesome, and go further to purify the mind.  We wish to notify that this will be the final pindacāra programme for the year, and the first in 2026 will be on 3 January in O.U.G. and Happy Garden, and on 17 January in Seri Kembangan.  Sukhihontu.
