Saturday 18 February marked the 4th Annual General Meeting of Nalanda Buddhist Society Kuala Lumpur Branch. During the meeting held at NEO Centre Happy Garden, members were given updates on the Branch’s development in 2016 as well as upcoming plans for this year. The meeting was also attended by Nalanda President Sis. Evelyn, Honorary Secretary Bro. Pee, and EXCO Member Bro. Lee Teck Beng.
Nalanda members concluded yet another successful Annual General Meeting (A.G.M.) on Sunday 12 March – the 14th edition since the Society’s establishment in 2003. As customary, the meeting was preceded by paying homage to the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha at the main Shrine Hall of Nalanda Centre, followed by ‘Achariya-abhivādana’ – paying respects to our late spiritual adviser, Ven. K. Sri Dhammananda, at Sumangala Room.
Nalanda members are reminded to attend the 14th Annual General Meeting of the Society this Sunday, 12 March, starting at 2pm. The Secretariat and Treasury will table their working and financial reports for 2016 respectively. There will also be discussions on the Society’s development plans for 2017-2018, and the election of a new Board of Management.

As the pace picks up after the Lunar New Year holidays and heading towards the month of Vesakha (April-May), Nalandians will get busier with educational and community outreach programmes in the coming weeks. Nalanda Buddhist Society members based in Sri Serdang had a successful Extraordinary General Meeting (E.G.M.) which was held on Sunday, 16 October. The E.G.M. was called by the Board of Management to discuss important issues regarding the Society’s future development.
All members of Nalanda Buddhist Society Malaysia registered at Sri Serdang headquarters are requested to attend an Extraordinary General Meeting (E.G.M.) called by the Board of Management; the E.G.M. will be held on Sunday 16 October 2016, 1.00 pm, at Nalanda Centre Sri Serdang to discuss the Society’s future development plans.
On 28 May, Nalanda President Sis. Evelyn Chow led the Nalandian delegation to attend the Annual General Meeting of Theravada Council of Malaysia (TBCM), held at Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple, Kuala Lumpur. Bro. Ananda Fong, Bro. Pee Che Yong, and Sis. Joanne Tan were the Society’s other representatives at the AGM.
On Sunday 6 March, Nalanda Buddhist Society Kuala Lumpur Branch held its 3rd Annual General Meeting at NEO Centre Happy Garden. It was a fruitful meeting where members were updated on the development of the Branch in 2015 and informed of upcoming plans for this year.
The 3rd Annual General Meeting of Nalanda Buddhist Society Johor Bahru Branch was held on Sunday, 6 March, at NEO Centre Johor Bahru. During the meeting, members were given updates of the Branch’s development in 2015 and informed of the upcoming plans for this year. The meeting was also attended by Nalanda’s Honorary Secretary Bro. Pee Che Yong, Assistant Secretary Sis. Mudita Chan, and Executive Committee Member Sis. Buddhini Tan.
