All-hands-on-deck to prepare for Buddha Day

Parents, devotees and students gather together to prepare for “Terima Kasih, Dhammananda” exhibition.

Wesak Full Moon falls next Sunday, 31 May! The Nalanda community has been joyfully preparing to welcome family and friends for the Buddha Day Observance programmes from 30 May to 7 June. Alongside the Heritage Procession, Dhamma Appreciation Night, Mass Food Offering, and inspiring Dhamma talks, visitors can also look forward to two special exhibitions — “Terima Kasih, Dhammananda” and “Wisdom Park”.

In recent weeks, many helping hands have come together to clean and prepare the Centre, while roadshows have been organised to engage and invite the wider Buddhist community. What shines through during this period of preparation is the beautiful spirit of harmony and cooperation among everyone involved. Devotees, volunteers, parents, facilitators, and students have worked side by side with joyful dedication, each contributing their time and energy wholeheartedly.

This shared sense of purpose reflects the values of generosity, unity, and harmony that lie at the heart of Wesak observance. Through the collective efforts of the community, a warm and welcoming environment is being created for all who will participate in the celebrations. As preparations continue, we rejoice in the unity, dedication, and joyful spirit that continue to inspire and strengthen the Nalanda community.
