ĀSĀḶHA FULL-MOON ‘DHAMMA DAY’ OBSERVANCE
Wednesday, 9 July | 8 pm – 10 pm | Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang
Āsāḷha Full-moon, also known as Dhamma Day, is a significant Buddhist occasion marking the anniversary of the Buddha’s first sermon (the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta) to His first five disciples at Deer Park in Isipatana, two full moons after His Enlightenment.
On this day, the ‘Wheel of Dhamma’ was set in motion when the Buddha expounded the Four Noble Truths – of ‘Dukkha’ (suffering); its cause; its cessation; and the Path to its cessation, which form the foundation of Buddhist teachings.
We joyfully invite everyone to join the Āsāḷha Full-moon ‘Dhamma Day’ service this Wednesday 9 July at 8pm to observe this meaningful spiritual occasion with offerings, chanting, meditation, and a Dhamma talk on the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta by Sis. Paruadi Ramasamy.
