Happy Malaysia Day

Happy Malaysia Day

Today 16 September 2025, marks 62 years since the formation of ‘Malaysia’ – a federation of 13 states spanning the Malay Peninsula, Sarawak, and Sabah. As a multi-ethnic and multi-religious country, Malaysians have grown to be more resilient and progressive through the years and endured through challenging times.

The official theme for National Day and Malaysia Day 2025 is ¨Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni” – “Compassion for the People”.   Compassion for others start with one’s mental and physical well-being.  Whilst one’s well-being is initially nurtured through the care and kindness of those around us, it is more important that one enhances our mental well-being through cultivating morality, tolerance and compassion within.

As we look ahead, let us take heed of the nation’s call to prioritise the well-being of the people and extend our care to those around us regardless of race or religion.  Nalanda Buddhist Society wishes all Malaysians ‘Happy Malaysia Day’.  May all beings be well and happy.
