On Wednesday 19 November, we warmly welcomed Venerable U Uttam and Mr. Sabuj Barua from the Bangladesh Buddhist Heritage Research Institute (BBHRI). Venerable U Uttam serves as the Secretary General of BBHRI and Abbot of Misripara Seema Buddha Vihara, while Mr. Sabuj Barua is BBHRI’s Director. In their first visit to Nalanda, they were hosted by Bro. Yeo Disheng for a tour around the Centre.
An exchange with our guests centered on the preservation of Buddhist history, documenting heritage, curating Buddhist resources, and engaging communities in education. They expressed appreciation for Nalanda’s initiatives, particularly the Pustaka’s Tipitaka collection and efforts to promote Buddhist learning.

Bro. Disheng hosted our guests on a tour of Nalanda, sharing about the symbolisms of Dhamma embedded within.
The visit built new bonds of friendship and mutual learning between both organisations. We rejoice in their notable efforts and wish Venerable U Uttam and Mr. Sabuj Barua continued success in preserving the Buddha-Sāsana.
