Growth and progress at Family Dhamma School Honours Day

Grateful for a year of meaningful learning as one big family.

On Saturday 29 November, Nalanda Family Dhamma School Johor Bahru held its  Appreciation and Honours Day at Nalanda Education & Outreach Centre, Johor Bahru. Parents, facilitators, and students came together to reflect on a meaningful year of learning and to honour the dedication, effort, and wholesome development of the School community. The event celebrated the growth of students in both understanding and applying Buddhist values in their daily lives.

In her message, Nalanda Dhamma School Chief Facilitator Sis. Lau Wei Nee conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the Johor Bahru branch committee, facilitators, and volunteers for their consistent support, as well as to parents and students for their commitment in learning and practising together. She emphasised that the true value of Buddhist education lies in practice of cultivating compassion, mindfulness, right speech, and wise conduct, and reminded students that Dhamma should guide their choices and actions, especially in times of challenge. Representing parents, Sis. Teo Lih Fang shared her reflections on the transformative journey of learning together as a family within the Nalanda community.

Throughout the year, the School witnessed encouraging progress in which facilitators strengthened their teamwork and teaching capabilities, while families deepened their bonds through shared participation and reflection. The day concluded with fellowship and joy, as families departed with renewed inspiration and gratitude. We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone whose dedication and support made this year’s achievements possible. May Nalanda Family Dhamma School Johor Bahru continue to nurture unity, growth, and noble living in the light of the Dhamma.
