Harmony & goodwill at Peace Walk

Harmony & goodwill at Peace Walk

The Peace Walk held at NEO Centre KL on Saturday, 6 June, brought together members of the Buddhist community for an evening of Dhamma reflection and mindful fellowship.  In the Dhamma talk by Achariya S. Vijaya, he shared insights on developing wisdom to see things as they truly are by following the path taught by the Buddha.  Wisdom enables us to recognise the illusory nature of our attachments and that grasping at impermanent phenomena inevitably leads to suffering.

Drawing from the Buddha’s teachings, Ach. Vijaya highlighted three ways through which wisdom can be cultivated: suttamaya paññā, wisdom gained through listening to the Dhamma; cintamaya paññā, wisdom developed through reflection and contemplation; and bhāvanāmaya paññā, wisdom arising from meditation and direct experience.  Participants were encouraged to integrate these practices into their daily lives as a means of deepening understanding and progressing on the path to liberation.

The Peace Walk then commenced with devotees walking serenely through the neighbourhood of Happy Garden, embodying mindfulness, harmony, and goodwill.  The tranquil procession concluded with venerable monks leading the sharing of merits, allowing the community to dedicate the wholesome deeds of the evening for the welfare and happiness of all beings.
