From tonight, the eve of our Hari Kebangsaan (National Day) Malaysians at home and abroad come together to celebrate 69 years of nationhood.  We owe the peace, unity and harmony we enjoy today to the sacrifices and contributions of our forefathers, patriots and generations of Malaysians who have helped shape our nation.

As we celebrate this meaningful occasion, may we continue to cherish our diversity, uphold mutual respect, and work together for the progress and well-being of our beloved Malaysia.  May our nation remain peaceful, prosperous and united for generations to come.
